I originally came across this book when this blog post, which listed all 50 ways in the book, popped up on FriendFeed. I found myself going through the list of “50″ techniques and saying “wow that really is true”
This New York Time best-seller is no self help mumbo jumbo or motivational crap – I despise those books. Instead, this is like a “psychology for dummies”, set in the business and entrepreneurial worlds. For entrepreneurs this is 50 things you need to know.
You are going to be amazed at how easily humans can be manipulated. You’ll also be amazed at how this book relates to your own everyday life and how much we are effected by “persuasion” on a daily basis.
I mentioned before this book is not “self help mumbo jumbo”. Each of the “50″ items is based upon a scientific study and is presented in a compelling and easy to read format.
Fellow entrepreneurs, you are going to find this book very useful. Understanding the science of persuasion is also understanding sales!

The next book in my Bookclub is “The Web Startup Success Guide” by Bob Walsh. Im going to give away a copy of it to one commenter on this post. With each review I do, I give away the next book that I will be reading for bookclub.
All you have to do is leave a comment – it could be a review or “Yes!”, or something else related. Also it would be awesome (to make it easier on me) if you could add the book to your Amazon Wishlist. That way if you win I can easily send it to you.

Its a fine line between sounding persuasive and sounding pushy, hope this book clarifies that. Telemarketing callers are going to read this book to find more ways they could be persuasive.
Good point Mohan, true persuasion is not pushy at all….thats the whole idea
I hate “self help mumbo jumbo” I am not a “traditional” sales woman (student/bartender), but being persuasive helps in a number of aspects. It sounds great!
Thanks so much for the giveaway — I have read some really good reviews for this book! By the way, I have added the book to my Amazon wish list.
