“Don’t put all your eggs in the one basket” – an old saying, my father reminded me of yesterday.
I’ve been doing a bit of diversifying recently. I never want to go back and work like I used to. I was so god damn miserable. So I guess I’m preparing just a bit of a backup plan in case things don’t go to plan (not that I really have a solid plan).
But things change, I don’t know if a competitor will suddenly swoop in and take away customers. I don’t know what the future will hold.
So I think its a smart idea, for those who want to live a nomadic lifestyle working for themselves, to set various income streams. Don’t put all your eggs in the one basket.
So how do you make an income at the moment?
Putting my Eggs in Multiple Baskets
Here’s a rough breakdown of how I make an income:
- Task.fm
- Niche Sites (i now build one a day by outsourcing)
- Ebook
- Ad Sales on this blog and others
By building a whole suite of niche sites, I’ll have an armory of available sites to flip later on down the track. These sites will only increase in value and basically they’re my insurance policy.
A Focus Problem
I do have a problem with remaining focuses on the big projects. I often get sidetracked by smaller apps and sites. And this is something I’m working on. Through daily reflection on what I achieved and keeping a notepad in front of me, this issue should be gone soon. But its something to be aware of. Don’t let your big projects and money makers slide away.
So how many income sources are you using to achieve your TMI?

How in the world do you even get enough ideas to build 1 site a day?
Unless you’re using something like WordPress to get adsense sales? Which seems hard to make money on.
Btw, I hope that didn’t sound offensive. I’m just really curious – I would love to be able to generate more ideas!
read this post of mine. Its actually very easy to generate ideas. http://feint.me/2010/03/finding-a-niche-its-right-in-front-of-you/
How I make money? Well you’ll have to subscribe to the anti-newsletter to find that out
Cool, signed up.
Btw, Thailand isn’t as bad as it appears to be in the news right now. All of the action is happening within a few blocks of the whole country.
yeah I guessed the news reports may have been building it up. I’ll probably be getting to Thailand in August.
Currently I just have my own blog. I actually have another blog but it’s down right now and am just focusing on getting this up and running.
Once I’m making some money with my current blog I plan on starting some other projects because I too believe in making sure there’s multiple income streams and not just one.
what happens if your blog never makes any money?
