Weekend Reading: Thai Edition

Its been a while since I put one of these posts together.  What with travel, lots of fun work to do and a lack of wifi, this post got forgotten.

I thought I would do a Thai edition this time.  Not because of the current conflicts, but because I’m pretty sure every expat and nomad I know seems to be hanging out there at the moment.  Some of you better still be there when I arrive in August (and I expect nothing less than beers and parties on arrival).

With everyone having a blast in Thailand, there have been some great posts too.  Here are some that caught my eye:

Songkran: Thai New Year – A post from Nomadic Matt.  This is one big water fight and simply put it looks like a whole lot of fun.  Some other countries could learn a thing or two about celebrations from this.

Getting to Know the Thai People – A great post by Sean Ogle on meeting people and stepping outside comfort zones when travelling.

Ways to Get Away from it All: Thai Islands – Although when in Bangkok I’ll be staying in a central apartment, I definitely want to get out of the city and check out the Islands.  I love these posts with lots of local information.

Sangsom, Bullets & Tony Bourdain: Strange Days in Bangkok - This one relates to the current conflicts.  Hopefully things settle down. btw -  what a great post title!

Bye Bye Bangkok - Gary spent the last 3 months in Bangkok and now its time to leave.

So if you’re going to be in Thailand from August onwards this year do let me know.  Would love to meet up with you guys.

P.S – join the anti-newsletter.  Next issue I’m hooking you up with free access to BuildAWebApp, a project I’m currently working on.

Thanks for including our post and enjoy the quiet Thai islands when you get there. I´m sure you´ll need a break from Bangkok now and again.
