I’m not a fan of “self help” books.  Its easy to be fooled into thinking this was going to be another “self help” book outlining how I needed to visualise some crap and then magic will happen.  But, after following Gary’s podcast for a while, I knew this would be anything but.

This isn’t a long book – I read it in one day, sitting on beach in Phuket.  Apart from providing me with the perfect excuse to ignore the constant stream of hawkers, it also provided me with a much need boost of motivation.

The concept behind Crush It is figuring out what you’re passionate about, and creating a business around this passion.  In some ways, the book is a little too specific, mentioning individual sites, and outlining a very specific way to make money.   However, for someone unfamiliar with generating an income through the intertubes, this is a perfect first read.

Although I don’t think I learnt anything that changed my approach to business, as in process.  I do feel it changed my mental approach.   If this book does anything, it’ll motivate you to stop watching TV and start doing some work.   Hussle!
