How to Take Great Photos Review

I’ve been a fan of the books to come out of RockablePress for a while now – they have some killer titles.  How to Take Great Photos by Peter Tellone is their latest, and I jumped on the chance to pick up a copy.

I’ve only read bits a pieces of the ebook so far, but from what I’ve seen, its a great refresher on taking photos.  I orignally learnt about photography when I took it in College.  Back then, although digital was quite popular, we still processed photos by hand and used film.  It was great fun.

Most people take rubbish photos (I don’t worry, I’m not that good either).  But, with just a few tips you can dramatically change the quality of your photos.

Even if you just have a point and shoot camera,  you’ll still discover the basics of composing a shot, figuring out light, and using editing software to finish the photos.  Btw, the books probably just worth it for figuring out all the aperture, ISO and exposure settings.  Most point and shoot cameras have a manual mode, which when used correctly takes much better looking photos than the standard auto mode.

The book is 95 pages – so plenty of content to keep you going, and also includes plenty of example photos so you can see exactly what’s being talking about.

If you’re a traveller or about to set off on a great journey, this is a must read – you don’t want to end up spoiling your memories.  And with Christmas coming up, its a perfect time to brush up on your skills.

Its only $9 and you can download a sample to see if its for you.
